St. John’s Creation Stewards are dedicated to caring for God’s creation in our parish, our community and our world.
Our mission is to care for God's creation at St. John's parish, in Snohomish, and in the Episcopal Diocese of Western Washington. We will work with other groups at St. John's to become better stewards by raising awareness in youth and adults, sponsoring informational events and activities, and keeping care of creation in liturgy and prayer.
We are working with others to
- Recycle waste from the church office and kitchen;
- Grow food for our community kitchen and local food banks;
- Reduce our church's carbon footprint and save on energy costs;
- Support local farmers by encouraging shopping at farmers' markets and participation in CSA's;
- Encourage the use of local foods for church events and coffee hours;
- Connect youth and adults to the beauty of creation;
- Reduce our personal carbon footprints.
Let's make care of God's Creation part of all our lives!
