The Creation Stewards focus on caring for our home – planet earth. That includes our St. John home where we carry out projects to save energy and water, recycle, and advocate for local, organic foods. But it is a fun-loving, prayerful group, too! We always try to inject some humor into our work and remember to pray for the Spirit’s guidance.
It’s summer time and so our gardens are providing fresh, local, and organic vegetables, fruits and flowers for the Harvest Table we set up each Sunday. People are welcome to bring their excess and trade for something. Or those without gardens can take what they want and, if they wish, donate its approximate value. Half of the donations cover the costs of the back garden; the other half goes to support the local Snohomish food bank.
We plan to offer a book study on Pope Francis’ Encyclical, Laudato Si’, in the fall. It will be held after the 11 am coffee hour on Sundays.
Check us out at our monthly meetings – 7 pm on the 3rd Tuesday of the month. Place to be announced. Let Nancy McConnell know if you are interested . All are welcome!
