The mission of the Outreach Committee is to respond to basic human needs. Basic human needs include feeding the hungry and providing shelter and medical attention for the most vulnerable in our society. The Outreach Committee offers financial support to local food banks, Housing Hope, Matthew House, and Christmas House among others. Outreach Committee members and others in the St. John congregation also offer their hands in service at Kids’ Café, local food banks, the cold weather shelter, and in drives for school supplies, holiday meals, and for coats and shoes.
The Outreach offers on-going support to:
- Food Banks in North Snohomish County: Maltby, Sky Valley, Snohomish and Sultan
- Schools in Snohomish School District
- Mobile Medical clinic
- Community Kitchen
Current projects for Fall, 2016 include:
- Backpacks of school supplies for needy students
- Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for Snohomish Food Bank
- Christmas House
The ministry of the Outreach Committee is supported from the Endowment begun and continued by parishioners of St. John’s Episcopal Church.
The Outreach Committee is always looking for new members passionate about serving the more vulnerable people in our communities. Contact Tom Schelfhout for more information.
